Frequently Asked Questions
How much will this cost?
We have a variety of options that fit your needs, some with courier service on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. We can work out a plan that mets your financial and security needs. We can usually set your media up for free. Call us to find out how reasonable we can be.
How do you secure the truck that transports our media?
Each transport vehicle is equipped with GPS and a professionally installed alarm system that includes entry sensors on all doors.
What do you do to protect our media from being stolen during transport?
When making deliveries into the customer’s facility, couriers are required to park in the customer’s parking lot (if possible) and lock and alarm the vehicle. Couriers are also instructed to observe the “quick in/quick out” rule which means simply to make the delivery as brief as possible so that they may return to the vehicle as quickly as possible. All CompuVault trucks have GPS tracking.
I'm interested in communications provisions.
Each courier is provided a cell phone so that constant contact is available from courier to office and office to courier.
Can your driver stop/park in any convenience stores in town? What is your policy in this regard?
While there is no policy about not stopping at convenience stores, we stress the policy of remaining with the transport vehicle when not making a delivery. In some cases, couriers will stop to refuel or get lunch, but we ask that during these times a “direct line of sight” of the locked vehicle be observed.
Is the media secured while in the truck?
Yes. All doors are locked when courier is not retrieving or returning media to the transport area of the truck. This includes while driving.
How do you screen your employees that handle our media?
All employees are screened for prior criminal backgrounds and a stringent drug test is performed prior to hiring. We also reserve the right of “random” drug testing at anytime during employment.
How do you protect our media when stored overnight at your facility? Is it in a vault? How do you control temperature and humidity? Do you have any fire protection system in the building? Do you have cameras? Alarm? etc?
All media is stored in a 6-inch steel reinforced concrete vault with one entrance in and out. The vault is rated 9R for strength and is in full compliance with the Bank Protection Act. We maintain a temperature range of 68-72 degrees and a humidity factor of 40% - 50% in our vault at all times. These measurements are monitored daily.
Our fire protection system is a combination of Ansul Halon and FM-200 suppression systems, which are serviced and maintained year round by a local fire safety company.
Our alarm system is set at closing time each evening and remains armed through the night. During the day, there are several panic sensors placed throughout the building in case security is breached. Security cameras are focused on all areas of the vault and automatically record all activities being conducted.
Our company maintains a security link to the local police and fire personnel via a central station security monitoring service, whose processes and procedures are reviewed quarterly.
Each customer must provide a list of personnel who is allowed access to media and to what degree. Each customer is also issued a custom ID on his or her first visit to our vault. Customer entry into the vault is also monitored through the use of a time card system so that we may track customer entry, if necessary.
